People Moves: Howden US Hires Murphy to Build Casualty; Hippo Appoints Gordon Chief Data Officer; Verisk Names Khemka President of Underwriting Solutions

Howden US announced the appointment of Carol Murphy as head of US Casualty.

Murphy will join CEO Mike Parrish’s leadership team and partner with Howden’s global specialty leaders to build a US casualty offering that is client-centric, technically rigorous and locally responsive across all industry sectors.

In previous industry roles Murphy has led casualty strategy, placement and execution, complex claims advisory and analytics, including at Hub and Aon. She joins Howden’s team of senior regional experts, Dan Davoli, Matt Replogle and Mark Colgate.

Hippo Appoints Gordon Chief Data Officer

Robin Gordon

Hippo, headquartered in San Jose, California, appointed Robin Gordon as chief data officer. Gordon will spearhead the strategic growth and evolution of Hippo’s data and analytics function, advancing the use of predictive modeling, machine learning, and AI to enhance Hippo’s risk management capabilities.

Gordon spent the past decade in executive roles as chief data officer and chief technology officer at global companies including Blackstone, KPMG and CoreLogic. She also served as global chief data and analytics officer at MetLife.

Verisk Names Khemka President of Underwriting Solutions, Caccese Steps Into Strategic Advisor Role

Verisk, headquartered in Jersy City, New Jersey, named Saurabh Khemka president of underwriting solutions.

Khemka has held several leadership roles since joining Verisk more than 12 years ago. Most recently, he served as co-president of underwriting solutions since 2024, leading core lines and life solutions. Prior to that, he served as president of core line services. He is the principal architect and driving force behind the Core Lines Reimagine initiative—a multi-year initiative to modernize core insurance services including forms, rules and loss costs. Before joining Verisk, he was a principal at Bain & Company.

Doug Caccese steps into a strategic advisor role, and will leave Verisk in January 2026. An insurance industry veteran, Caccese held several leadership roles during his nearly 11-year career at Verisk including president of domestic P/C underwriting and personal lines.
