October 3, 2025

Howden, the London-based insurance intermediary group, announced the acquisition of Gott & Wynne Ltd., a property-casualty insurance broker based in Llandudno, North Wales, specializing in both personal and commercial lines.

This acquisition gives Howden its first branch in North Wales in addition to its already significant presence elsewhere in country.

Led by Barry Wynne, Michael Clough and Steven Goldsmith, Gott & Wynne has expertise in insurance for Morgan sports cars and classic cars, alongside specialisms in commercial and business insurance, and property insurance. All three leaders will remain with the business from completion of the acquisition.

“Having built a full-service insurance broker that is unrivalled in its quality in South Wales, the addition of Gott & Wynne is a significant step forward in growing our business in the north of the country,” commented Kelly Ogley, CEO, Howden Consumer and Local Commercial, in a statement. “Gott & Wynne and Howden are a strong cultural fit, with shared values for our clients, our people, and the local communities we serve.”

By joining Howden, with its extensive presence across South Wales, alongside its global network, Gott & Wynne will be positioned to provide greater value to our clients through enhanced solutions and capabilities,” said Gott & Wynne’s directors, Barry Wynne, Michael Clough and Steven Goldsmith, in a joint statement.

Founded in 1994, Howden provides insurance, reinsurance and underwriting services and solutions to clients ranging from private individuals to the largest multinational companies. The group operates in 56 countries in Europe, Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, the USA, Australia and New Zealand, employs 22,000 people and manages premiums totaling US$47 billion on behalf of its clients.
